ٱقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ قَوْمًا صَـٰلِحِينَ
یوسف کو تو مار ہی ڈالو یا اسے کسی (نامعلوم) جگہ پھینک دو کہ تمہارے والد کا رخ صرف تمہاری طرف ہی ہو جائے۔ اس کے بعد تم نیک ہو جانا.
Kill Joseph or cast him out to [another] land; the countenance [i.e., attention] of your father will [then] be only for you, and you will be after that a righteous people."
وَجَـٰهِدُوا۟ فِى ٱللَّهِ حَقَّ جِهَادِهِۦ ۚ هُوَ ٱجْتَبَىٰكُمْ وَمَا جَعَلَ عَلَيْكُمْ فِى ٱلدِّينِ مِنْ حَرَجٍ ۚ مِّلَّةَ أَبِيكُمْ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ هُوَ سَمَّىٰكُمُ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ مِن قَبْلُ وَفِى هَـٰذَا لِيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ شَهِيدًا عَلَيْكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ شُهَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ ۚ فَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱعْتَصِمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ هُوَ مَوْلَىٰكُمْ ۖ فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَوْلَىٰ وَنِعْمَ ٱلنَّصِيرُ
اور اللہ کی راه میں ویسا ہی جہاد کرو جیسا جہاد کا حق ہے۔ اسی نے تمہیں برگزیده بنایا ہے اور تم پر دین کے بارے میں کوئی تنگی نہیں ڈالی، دین اپنے باپ ابراہیم (علیہ السلام) کا قائم رکھو، اسی اللہ نے تمہارا نام مسلمان رکھا ہے۔ اس قرآن سے پہلے اور اس میں بھی تاکہ پیغمبر تم پر گواه ہو جائے اور تم تمام لوگوں کے گواه بن جاؤ۔ پس تمہیں چاہئے کہ نمازیں قائم رکھو اور زکوٰة ادا کرتے رہو اور اللہ کو مضبوط تھام لو، وہی تمہارا ولی اور مالک ہے۔ پس کیا ہی اچھا مالک ہے اور کتنا ہی بہتر مددگار ہے.
And strive for Allāh with the striving due to Him. He has chosen you and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty. [It is] the religion of your father, Abraham. He [i.e., Allāh] named you "Muslims" before [in former scriptures] and in this [revelation] that the Messenger may be a witness over you and you may be witnesses over the people. So establish prayer and give zakāh and hold fast to Allāh. He is your protector; and excellent is the protector, and excellent is the helper.
