أَن تَقُولُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أُنزِلَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبُ عَلَىٰ طَآئِفَتَيْنِ مِن قَبْلِنَا وَإِن كُنَّا عَن دِرَاسَتِهِمْ لَغَـٰفِلِينَ
کہیں تم لوگ یوں نہ کہو کہ کتاب تو صرف ہم سے پہلے جو دو فرقے تھے ان پر نازل ہوئی تھی، اور ہم ان کے پڑھنے پڑھانے سے محض بے خبر تھے۔
[We revealed it] lest you say, "The Scripture was only sent down to two groups before us, but we were of their study unaware,"
فَكَفَىٰ بِٱللَّهِ شَهِيدًۢا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ إِن كُنَّا عَنْ عِبَادَتِكُمْ لَغَـٰفِلِينَ
سو ہمارے تمہارے درمیان اللہ کافی ہے گواه کے طور پر، کہ ہم کو تمہاری عبادت کی خبر بھی نہ تھی.
And sufficient is Allāh as a witness between us and you that we were of your worship unaware."
