ذَٰلِكَ أَن لَّمْ يَكُن رَّبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا غَـٰفِلُونَ
یہ اس وجہ سے ہے کہ آپ کا رب کسی بستی والوں کو کفر کے سبب ایسی حالت میں ہلاک نہیں کرتا کہ اس بستی کے رہنے والے بے خبر ہوں۔
That is because your Lord would not destroy the cities for wrongdoing while their people were unaware.
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ
آپ کا رب ایسا نہیں کہ کسی بستی کو ﻇلم سے ہلاک کر دے اور وہاں کے لوگ نیکو کار ہوں.
And your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjustly while their people were reformers.
وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهْلِكَ ٱلْقُرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ يَبْعَثَ فِىٓ أُمِّهَا رَسُولًا يَتْلُوا۟ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَـٰتِنَا ۚ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهْلِكِى ٱلْقُرَىٰٓ إِلَّا وَأَهْلُهَا ظَـٰلِمُونَ
تیرا رب کسی ایک بستی کو بھی اس وقت تک ہلاک نہیں کرتا جب تک کہ ان کی کسی بڑی بستی میں اپنا کوئی پیغمبر نہ بھیج دے جو انہیں ہماری آیتیں پڑھ کر سنا دے اور ہم بستیوں کو اسی وقت ہلاک کرتے ہیں جب کہ وہاں والے ﻇلم وستم پر کمر کس لیں.
And never would your Lord have destroyed the cities until He had sent to their mother [i.e., principal city] a messenger reciting to them Our verses. And We would not destroy the cities except while their people were wrongdoers.
