فَلَمَّا جَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلَّيْلُ رَءَا كَوْكَبًا ۖ قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَبِّى ۖ فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَ قَالَ لَآ أُحِبُّ ٱلْـَٔافِلِينَ
پھر جب رات کی تاریکی ان پر چھا گئی تو انہوں نے ایک ستاره دیکھا آپ نے فرمایا کہ یہ میرا رب ہے مگر جب وه غروب ہوگیا تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ میں غروب ہوجانے والوں سے محبت نہیں رکھتا۔
So when the night covered him [with darkness], he saw a star. He said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "I like not those that set [i.e., disappear]."
وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ
اور ان کے لئے ایک نشانی رات ہے جس سے ہم دن کو کھینچ دیتے ہیں تو وه یکایک اندھیرے میں ره جاتے ہیں.
And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it the [light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness.
لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ
نہ آفتاب کی یہ مجال ہے کہ چاند کو پکڑے اور نہ رات دن پرآگے بڑھ جانے والی ہے، اور سب کے سب آسمان میں تیرتے پھرتے ہیں.
It is not allowable [i.e., possible] for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.
وَمِنْ ءَايَـٰتِهِ ٱلَّيْلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ وَٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ ۚ لَا تَسْجُدُوا۟ لِلشَّمْسِ وَلَا لِلْقَمَرِ وَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ
اور دن رات اور سورج چاند بھی (اسی کی) نشانیوں میں سے ہیں، تم سورج کو سجده نہ کرو نہ چاند کو بلکہ سجده اس اللہ کے لیے کرو جس نے ان سب کو پیدا کیا ہے، اگر تمہیں اس کی عبادت کرنی ہے تو.
And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to Allāh, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship.
