وَدَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
اہل کتاب کی ایک جماعت چاہتی ہے کہ تمہیں گمراه کر دیں۔ دراصل وه خود اپنے آپ کو گمراه کر رہے ہیں اور سمجھتے نہیں۔
A faction of the People of the Scripture wish they could mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they perceive [it] not.
وَلَوْلَا فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُۥ لَهَمَّت طَّآئِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُضِلُّوكَ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلَّآ أَنفُسَهُمْ ۖ وَمَا يَضُرُّونَكَ مِن شَىْءٍ ۚ وَأَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْكَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلْحِكْمَةَ وَعَلَّمَكَ مَا لَمْ تَكُن تَعْلَمُ ۚ وَكَانَ فَضْلُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ عَظِيمًا
اگر اللہ تعالیٰ کا فضل ورحم تجھ پر نہ ہوتا تو ان کی ایک جماعت نے تو تجھے بہکانے کا قصد کر ہی لیا تھا، مگر دراصل یہ اپنے آپ کو ہی گمراه کرتے ہیں، یہ تیرا کچھ نہیں بگاڑ سکتے، اللہ تعالیٰ نے تجھ پر کتاب وحکمت اتاری ہے اور تجھے وه سکھایا ہے جسے تو نہیں جانتا تھا اور اللہ تعالیٰ کا تجھ پر بڑا بھاری فضل ہے۔
And if it was not for the favor of Allāh upon you, [O Muḥammad], and His mercy, a group of them would have determined to mislead you. But they do not mislead except themselves, and they will not harm you at all. And Allāh has revealed to you the Book and wisdom and has taught you that which you did not know. And ever has the favor of Allāh upon you been great.
