لَآ إِكْرَاهَ فِى ٱلدِّينِ ۖ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ ٱلرُّشْدُ مِنَ ٱلْغَىِّ ۚ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱسْتَمْسَكَ بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَا ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

دین کے بارے میں کوئی زبردستی نہیں، ہدایت ضلالت سے روشن ہوچکی ہے، اس لئے جو شخص اللہ تعالیٰ کے سوا دوسرے معبودوں کا انکار کرکے اللہ تعالیٰ پر ایمان ﻻئے اس نے مضبوط کڑے کو تھام لیا، جو کبھی نہ ٹوٹے گا اور اللہ تعالیٰ سننے واﻻ، جاننے واﻻ ہے۔

There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become distinct from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in ṭāghūt and believes in Allāh has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.

وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَقَد تَّبَيَّنَ لَكُم مِّن مَّسَـٰكِنِهِمْ ۖ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ وَكَانُوا۟ مُسْتَبْصِرِينَ

اور ہم نے عادیوں اور ﺛمودیوں کو بھی غارت کیا جن کے بعض مکانات تمہارے سامنے ﻇاہر ہیں اور شیطان نے انہیں ان کی بداعمالیاں آراستہ کر دکھائی تھیں اور انہیں راه سے روک دیا تھا باوجودیکہ یہ آنکھوں والے اور ہوشیار تھے.

And [We destroyed] ʿAad and Thamūd, and it has become clear to you from their [ruined] dwellings. And Satan had made pleasing to them their deeds and averted them from the path, and they were endowed with perception.
