وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا ۖ لَا نَسْـَٔلُكَ رِزْقًا ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ ۗ وَٱلْعَـٰقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ
اپنے گھرانے کے لوگوں پرنماز کی تاکید رکھ اور خود بھی اس پر جما ره، ہم تجھ سے روزی نہیں مانگتے، بلکہ ہم خود تجھے روزی دیتے ہیں، آخر میں بول باﻻ پرہیزگاری ہی کا ہے.
And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness.
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أُوتِيتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِندِىٓ ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِن قَبْلِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
قارون نے کہا یہ سب کچھ مجھے میری اپنی سمجھ کی بنا پر ہی دیا گیا ہے، کیا اسے اب تک یہ نہیں معلوم کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس سے پہلے بہت سے بستی والوں کو غارت کر دیا جو اس سے بہت زیاده قوت والے اور بہت بڑی جمع پونجی والے تھے۔ اور گنہگاروں سے ان کے گناہوں کی باز پرس ایسے وقت نہیں کی جاتی.
He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allāh had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked.
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ
اور یہ کہ اس نے عاد اول کو ہلاک کیا ہے.
And that He destroyed the first [people of] ʿAad.
