وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَكَانَ لِزَامًا وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى
اگر تیرے رب کی بات پہلے ہی سے مقرر شده اور وقت معین کرده نہ ہوتا تو اسی وقت عذاب آچمٹتا.
And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it [i.e., punishment] would have been an obligation [due immediately], and [if not for] a specified term [decreed].
قُلْ مَا يَعْبَؤُا۟ بِكُمْ رَبِّى لَوْلَا دُعَآؤُكُمْ ۖ فَقَدْ كَذَّبْتُمْ فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًۢا
کہہ دیجئے! اگر تمہاری دعا التجا (پکارنا) نہ ہوتی تو میرا رب تمہاری مطلق پروا نہ کرتا، تم تو جھٹلا چکے اب عنقریب اس کی سزا تمہیں چمٹ جانے والی ہوگی.
Say, "What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?" For you [disbelievers] have denied, so it [i.e., your denial] is going to be adherent.
