وَقَالَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ لَيْسَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَقَالَتِ ٱلنَّصَـٰرَىٰ لَيْسَتِ ٱلْيَهُودُ عَلَىٰ شَىْءٍ وَهُمْ يَتْلُونَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ ۗ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ مِثْلَ قَوْلِهِمْ ۚ فَٱللَّهُ يَحْكُمُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ

یہود کہتے ہیں کہ نصرانی حق پر نہیں اور نصرانی کہتے ہیں کہ یہودی حق پر نہیں، حاﻻنکہ یہ سب لوگ تورات پڑھتے ہیں۔ اسی طرح ان ہی جیسی بات بےعلم بھی کہتے ہیں۔ قیامت کے دن اللہ ان کے اس اختلاف کا فیصلہ ان کے درمیان کردے گا۔

The Jews say, "The Christians have nothing [true] to stand on," and the Christians say, "The Jews have nothing to stand on," although they [both] recite the Scripture. Thus do those who know not [i.e., the polytheists] speak the same as their words. But Allāh will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to differ.

فَمَنْ خَافَ مِن مُّوصٍ جَنَفًا أَوْ إِثْمًا فَأَصْلَحَ بَيْنَهُمْ فَلَآ إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ

ہاں جو شخص وصیت کرنے والے کی جانب داری یا گناه کی وصیت کردینے سے ڈرے پس وه ان میں آپس میں اصلاح کرادے تو اس پر گناه نہیں، اللہ تعالیٰ بخشنے واﻻ مہربان ہے۔

But if one fears from the bequeather [some] error or sin and corrects that which is between them [i.e., the concerned parties], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allāh is Forgiving and Merciful.

كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلْحَقِّ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ فِيهِ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوهُ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَتْهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَـٰتُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ فَهَدَى ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لِمَا ٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ فِيهِ مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِهِۦ ۗ وَٱللَّهُ يَهْدِى مَن يَشَآءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ

دراصل لوگ ایک ہی گروه تھے اللہ تعالیٰ نے نبیوں کو خوشخبریاں دینے اور ڈرانے واﻻ بنا کر بھیجا اور ان کے ساتھ سچی کتابیں نازل فرمائیں، تاکہ لوگوں کے ہر اختلافی امر کا فیصلہ ہوجائے۔ اور صرف ان ہی لوگوں نے جنھیں کتاب دی گئی تھی، اپنے پاس دﻻئل آچکنے کے بعد آپس کے بغض وعناد کی وجہ سے اس میں اختلاف کیا اس لئے اللہ پاک نے ایمان والوں کی اس اختلاف میں بھی حق کی طرف اپنی مشیئت سے رہبری کی اور اللہ جس کو چاہے سیدھی راه کی طرف رہبری کرتا ہے

Mankind was [of] one religion [before their deviation]; then Allāh sent the prophets as bringers of good tidings and warners and sent down with them the Scripture in truth to judge between the people concerning that in which they differed. And none differed over it [i.e., the Scripture] except those who were given it - after the clear proofs came to them - out of jealous animosity among themselves. And Allāh guided those who believed to the truth concerning that over which they had differed, by His permission. And Allāh guides whom He wills to a straight path.

إِنَّ ٱلدِّينَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْإِسْلَـٰمُ ۗ وَمَا ٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْعِلْمُ بَغْيًۢا بَيْنَهُمْ ۗ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ سَرِيعُ ٱلْحِسَابِ

بے شک اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک دین اسلام ہی ہے، اور اہل کتاب نے اپنے پاس علم آجانے کے بعد آپس کی سرکشی اور حسد کی بنا پر ہی اختلاف کیا ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی آیتوں کے ساتھ جو بھی کفر کرے اللہ تعالیٰ اس کا جلد حساب لینے واﻻ ہے۔

Indeed, the religion in the sight of Allāh is Islām. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them - out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of Allāh, then indeed, Allāh is swift in [taking] account.

أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ نَصِيبًا مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَىٰ كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّىٰ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

کیا آپ نے انہیں نہیں دیکھا جنہیں ایک حصہ کتاب کا دیا گیا ہے وه اپنے آپس کے فیصلوں کے لئے اللہ تعالیٰ کی کتاب کی طرف بلائے جاتے ہیں، پھر بھی ایک جماعت ان کی منھ پھیر کر لوٹ جاتی ہے۔

Do you not consider, [O Muḥammad], those who were given a portion of the Scripture? They are invited to the Scripture of Allāh that it should arbitrate between them; then a party of them turns away, and they are refusing.
