قَالَ هَـٰذَا فِرَاقُ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنِكَ ۚ سَأُنَبِّئُكَ بِتَأْوِيلِ مَا لَمْ تَسْتَطِع عَّلَيْهِ صَبْرًا
اس نے کہا بس یہ جدائی ہے میرے اور تیرے درمیان، اب میں تجھے ان باتوں کی اصلیت بھی بتا دوں گا جس پر تجھ سے صبر نہ ہو سکا.
[Al-Khiḍr] said, "This is parting between me and you. I will inform you of the interpretation of that about which you could not have patience.
وَقَالُوا۟ قُلُوبُنَا فِىٓ أَكِنَّةٍ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَآ إِلَيْهِ وَفِىٓ ءَاذَانِنَا وَقْرٌ وَمِنۢ بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٌ فَٱعْمَلْ إِنَّنَا عَـٰمِلُونَ
اور انہوں نے کہا کہ تو جس کی طرف ہمیں بلا رہا ہے ہمارے دل تو اس سے پردے میں ہیں اور ہمارے کانوں میں گرانی ہے اور ہم میں اور تجھ میں ایک حجاب ہے، اچھا تو اب اپنا کام کیے جا ہم بھی یقیناً کام کرنے والے ہیں.
And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings [i.e., screened] from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working."
