أَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ لِدُلُوكِ ٱلشَّمْسِ إِلَىٰ غَسَقِ ٱلَّيْلِ وَقُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ ۖ إِنَّ قُرْءَانَ ٱلْفَجْرِ كَانَ مَشْهُودًا
نماز کو قائم کریں آفتاب کے ڈھلنے سے لے کر رات کی تاریکی تک اور فجر کا قرآن پڑھنا بھی یقیناً فجر کے وقت کا قرآن پڑھنا حاضر کیا گیا ہے.
Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur’ān [i.e., recitation] of dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَغْرِبَ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَغْرُبُ فِى عَيْنٍ حَمِئَةٍ وَوَجَدَ عِندَهَا قَوْمًا ۗ قُلْنَا يَـٰذَا ٱلْقَرْنَيْنِ إِمَّآ أَن تُعَذِّبَ وَإِمَّآ أَن تَتَّخِذَ فِيهِمْ حُسْنًا
یہاں تک کہ سورج ڈوبنے کی جگہ پہنچ گیا اور اسے ایک دلدل کےچشمے میں غروب ہوتا ہوا پایا اور اس چشمے کے پاس ایک قوم کو بھی پایا، ہم نے فرما دیا کہ اے ذوالقرنین! یا تو تو انہیں تکلیف پہنچائے یا ان کے بارے میں تو کوئی بہترین روش اختیار کرے.
Until, when he reached the setting of the sun [i.e., the west], he found it [as if] setting in a body of dark water, and he found near it a people. We [i.e., Allāh] said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness."
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ مَطْلِعَ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَجَدَهَا تَطْلُعُ عَلَىٰ قَوْمٍ لَّمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُم مِّن دُونِهَا سِتْرًا
یہاں تک کہ جب سورج نکلنے کی جگہ تک پہنچا تو اسے ایک ایسی قوم پر نکلتا پایا کہ ان کے لئے ہم نے اس سے اور کوئی اوٹ نہیں بنائی.
Until, when he came to the rising of the sun [i.e., the east], he found it rising on a people for whom We had not made against it any shield.
فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا ۖ وَمِنْ ءَانَآئِ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ وَأَطْرَافَ ٱلنَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَىٰ
پس ان کی باتوں پر صبر کر اور اپنے پروردگار کی تسبیح اور تعریف بیان کرتا ره، سورج نکلنے سے پہلے اور اس کے ڈوبنے سے پہلے، رات کے مختلف وقتوں میں بھی اور دن کے حصوں میں بھی تسبیح کرتا ره، بہت ممکن ہے کہ تو راضی ہو جائے.
So be patient over what they say and exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied.
فَٱصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ ٱلْغُرُوبِ
پس یہ جو کچھ کہتے ہیں آپ اس پر صبر کریں اور اپنے رب کی تسبیح تعریف کے ساتھ بیان کریں سورج نکلنے سے پہلے بھی اور سورج غروب ہونے سے پہلے بھی.
So be patient, [O Muḥammad], over what they say and exalt [Allāh] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting,
